Itinerary in details:
Day 1: Hanoi arrival Arrival at Noibai Airport, you are warmly welcomed and transfered to hotel by Asia View Travel guides with signboard, check in, relax. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi..
Day 2: Hanoi city tour – night train to Sapa ( B, L ) Breakfast at hotel, This morning we start city tour with the Ho Chi Minh Complex. This famous site contains the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh (Close on Monday, Friday & October for annual maintenance ), the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city. We follow this with the impressive Ethnology Museum, dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam, Vietnam’s first university. Constructed in 1070, the gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. We continue to visit the Restored Sword Lake (Hoan Kiem Lake) and Ngoc Son Temple, do a cyclo tour around around the 36 streets of the Hanoi old quarter to learn more about simple life of Hanoian. Enjoy water puppet show- a remarkable Vietnamese art form that combines traditional music, fireworks, underwater puppeteers, and elaborate puppets floating gracefully over water. Transfer to the train station for night train to Sapa. The train leaves Hanoi at around 9:00 PM. Overnight on train.
Day 3: Sapa – Lao Chai – Tavan village (B, L) The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 06:00. There will be a vehicle and tour guide waiting to transfer us to Sapa. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km but it takes around 1.5 hours to make our way up the mountains. Arrive Sapa and enjoy breakfast at the hotel ( There will be surcharge if require early check in ). We then do a tour to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, and Sansaho village home to the H'mong hill tribes minority peoples. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the area. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.
Day 4: Sun day, Sa pa – Bac ha market - night train back Hanoi (B, L) Breakfast at hotel, pick up and transfer to Bacha Market, Arrive after 2 hours. Free time for visitting one of the most colourfull market in the world, Lunch. Visit one village and an old building called The H'mong king's house. Breakfast and the beginning of the day on which you visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colourful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy BacHa people's simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the minoriti es through the guide's interpretation. Leave the market for the H'mong King's house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch. In the afternoon, spend time visiting another village (BanPho village) Say good bye to Bac Ha and get back to Laocai for night train back Hanoi. Overnight on train.
Day 5: Ha noi – Ha Long ( B, L, D) Arrival in Hanoi in the early morning at round 5:00 am. Please find your way by foot back to a mini hotel near the Tran Quy Cap station gate to have shower and basic set menu breakfast. Then 8:30 AM start a 3. 5 hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Comfort stop en route for photos and coffee ( by your own ) before arriving to Ha Long City. 11.30 – 12.15 Welcome you at Hòn Gai Tourist International Port 12.30 Check in Overnight Cruise, welcome drink and programme introduction 13.00 – 14.30 The cruise start the journey Lunch served with local cuisines menu and passing the paramount view at Ha Long such as Kicking Dog Island , Fighting Chicken Islet, Huong Peak, Thien Cung Cave,Dau Go Island… 15.00 – 16.00 Explore Surprise Cave – one of the most famous caves on the Ha Long bay. 16.30 – 17.30 Small boat take you to Titop seaside: visiting islands, climb to Titop Mountain 200m in height to see the whole bay and swimming at Titop Seaside. 18.00 Return to your cruise or relaxation or enjoy sunset on the bay 19.30 – 21.00 Dinner at the restaurant with organised menu 21.00 Free at your leisure like lying on deck or going to catch squid… Overnight on junk. Day 6: Halong bay – Hanoi – Danang flight - Hoian ( Brunch ) Rising to the tranquil beauty of the bay we have time for an early morning dip with joys and emotions for watching sunrise on sea followed by breakfast. This morning we continue to move around the bay to find more secluded areas. The junk will be near us at all times serving as a back up vessel for those that require it. At around midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our awaiting vehicle for a 3.5 hour journey directly to the airport for flight to Danang. The guide in Danang will pick you up, transfer to hotel in Hoian, check in, relax.Hue. The guide in Hue will pick you up, transfer to hotel, check in, relax.
Day 7: Hoian ancien town ( B ) Breakfast at hotel, today we have a lot of time to discover Hoian ancient town. The ancient architecture of Hoian is a fascinating combination of Vietnamese traditional characters with Chinese and Japanese influence. There are plenty to see in this delightful and tranquil town, some of which are the famous Japanese Covered Bridges, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tam Ky House, the Chua Ong Pagoda, the vibrant market. We visit these on our morning walking tour past many low tiled houses scattered along the small streets and assembly halls which reflect the town's multi-cultural past. The town is also famous for it's shops in particular it's large number of tailors. If you wanted, you could have a whole new wardrobe made for you here!
Day 8: Hoi An cooking class - Hue City (B, L) • We start the day with a drink at Scout Café - 98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An – our meeting point. • Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. • We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy. • On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge chef’s, before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, we sit down and eat exactly what we have cooked. Recipes (our food contains no MSG): 1. Making fresh Rice paper 2. Fresh Rice Paper Rolls of Shrimp 3. Crispy Hoi An Pancakes with Shrimp, Herbs & a Peanut Sauce 4. Marinated Beef on a Sizzling Plate 5. Vietnamese Eggplant in Clay Pot 6. Food Decoration - Pineapple Boat, 3 Coloured Flowers & Vietnamese Hand Fan • Finish at approximately 1pm Afternoon, we drive north to Hue - the Vietnam's last imperial capital of Vietnam. Along the way we will visit the Marble Mountain with a Buddhist cave and a wonderful view of the surrounding, China Beach, the excellent Cham Museum which has much relevance to your later visit of the Cham ruin of My Son. Overnight at hotel in Hue.
Day 9: Hue City Tour (B, L) Breakfast at hotel, we then set out for the exploration of Hue's famous highlights, including the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. Built in the 19th century by the Nguyen dynasty, the City was home to the former Emperors of Vietnam from 1802 until 1945. In the surrounding countryside there is the picturesque ThiemnMu, or Heavenly Lady Pagoda. One of the most poignant displays here is a car belonging to a former monk, who in 1963, drove to Saigon and set himself alight to protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its treatment of Buddhists. Disembark the board for a visit the elaborate mausoleum of former emperor Tu Duc. Transfer back to Hue center, do the walking and shopping in Dong Ba Market to enjoy the speciality of Hue city.
Day 10: Hue – Ho chi minh (B, L) Breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport for flight to Ho chi minh city. Pick up, transfer to city center. We then discover dynamic city with the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Sai Gon Post Office. After seeing the War Remnant Museum, we continue our trip on to the bustling Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale. Overnight at hotel in Saigon
Day 11: Ho chi minh - Mekong Delta (B, L) Heading out of the town, we travel by roads to the Mekong Delta, Vietnam's largest rice bowl. On arrival in My Tho we embark on a boat navigating around the intricate small canals in the delta region, which is a great way to observe the local lifestyle close-up and catch a view dotted by many islands. The exciting excursion will pass the lush green vegetation before arriving at the famous Unicorn Island. Here we have opportunities to stroll around an orchard, taste many seasonal fruits and enjoy wonderful traditional music. The next stop of our trip is Ben Tre Province to visit some fascinating local industries. After feasting on a huge lunch we return to Ho Chi Minh. Overnight at hotel in Ho chi minh city.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B) Breakfast at hotel, free time until transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Say goodbye Vietnam. Thank you for traveling with Asia View Travel.
