Itinerary in Details:
Day 1: Hue arrival (D)
On arrival Phu Bai Airport, welcome and transfer to hotel by Asia View Travel guides with signboard, check in, relax.
Day 2: Hue city tour (B , L)
We then set out for the exploration of Hue's famous highlights, including the picturesque Thien Mu, or Heavenly Lady Pagoda. One of the most poignant displays here is a car belonging to a former monk, who in 1963, drove to Saigon and set himself alight to protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its treatment of Buddhists. Disembark the board for a visit the elaborate mausoleum of former emperor Tu Duc, Emperor Khai Dinh. Transfer back to Hue center Hue for lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. Built in the 19th century by the Nguyen dynasty, the City was home to the former Emperors of Vietnam from 1802 until 1945, do the walking and shopping in Dong Ba Marke to enjoy the speciality of Hue city.
Day 3: Hue – Vinh Moc - Phong Nha Caves – Dong Hoi (B, L, D)

Breakfast at hotel, drive up north to Phong Nha. On the way, stop to visit Vinh Moc tunnel. Continue to Phong Nha, having lunch before taking a boat trip from a critical point of the Hochiminh trail to go inside and visit PhongNha cave, know as the longest and most beautiful karsts caves in the world. Day finishes in the late afternoon. Dinner at local restaurant and overnight at hotel in Dong hoi. |
Day 4: Dong Hoi - DMZ – KheSanh - Hue (B, L)
Drive to visit the other sites of the former fierce battle fields on the DMZ including the former American bases as Rock Piles, Camp Carol and Khe Sanh; take a short walk on the HOchiminh trail and visit Van Kieu village. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue to view the war-torn ruins of the Quang Tri church and the wreckage of an American tank. Process south to Hue and transfer to hotel.
Day 5: Hue – Danang – Hoian (B, L)
As we bid Hue farewell this morning we continue our south bound journey. Today's destination is the old trading town of Hoi An. Along the way though we will stop at Lang Co beach for coffee and refreshments. From here we head up to the Hai Van pass, stopping at the top to take in the stunning views north over Lang Co beach and south over Danang city. Continuing on our way down the other side and into Da nang, where we will stop at the Cham Museum, the famed Danang Beach, and the Marble Mountains. Arriving in Hoi An, check in, relax. Take a walk to visit famous Japanese Covered Bridges, the Pottery Museum, the 200 years old Tamky House, the Chua Ong Pagoda, the vibrant market. Passing many low tiled houses scattered along the small streets and assembly halls which reflect the town's multi-cultural past. The town is also famous for it's shops in particular it's large number of tailors. If you wanted, you could have a whole new wardrobe made for you here!
Day 6: Hoi An - My Son - Hoi An (B, L)
We drive to visit holly land My Son. This is a former capital of the ancient Cham civilization that ruled central Vietnam between the second and thirteenth centuries. Hinduism from India heavily influenced their religion. Located 60km from Danang, My Son is considered to be one of the best-preserved Cham structures in Vietnam. The complex is comprised of seventy Hindu-like towers and temples dating from the second century. This site is a must-see for those who are interested in architecture and ancient civilizations. It is one of four World Heritage listed sites in Vietnam. Balance of the day will be at your leisure to do your endless shopping in Hoian. Overnight at hotel in Hoian.
Day 7: Hoian departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel, free until transfer to Danang airport for your departure flight. End of tour.
